This turned in to a cheat day. I had a god-awful sleep as I came under attack by the heaven's and dog (tried to jump on the bed while I slept, scared the crap outta me). Woke up totally out of it, couldn't bring myself to do cardio but I did my new shoulder/back/arms routine and was rocking shakey wrists from the get-go. I knew I'd worked them hard but obviously not as hard as I thought! Same as the big abs circuit I did on Monday, I thought I was all over that and was kind of disappointed they didn't hurt more but MAN were they aching when I tried to engage them! Felt sickly again, and finally made the tomorrow (Day 40/29 in Blog World) connection that I usually snack on some protein before I do an intense workout. I used to do that, then stopped when I wasn't working as hard, or was doing pilates and it's not advisable to eat for a few hours prior, so I'll make sure I have a few almonds before hitting I tie up my joggers from now on.
As for eating yesterday? Holy hell. I was a
machine! I obviously needed the food for recovery, my body was all over the shop, sore and tired. I'm quite proud that with the exception of two bites of a caramel slice and half a home-made organic nut-filled rocky road my never ending hunger was filled with predominantly good foods. I just at a lot of them. It went a little like this.
Actually, before I start, I'd like to point out that I'm not proud of this, but if i don't log, I'll never learn, right? I have to conceed my triumphs and my failures, or something. Okay, here goes:
- pb & rye Cruskit
- Cruskit w turkey & cheese
- half a cup of porridge
- turkey, spinach and tomato on rye wrap
- 1/2 rye wrap with Vegemite
- choc attack (see above)
- smoothie w pineapple, guava and mint
- 12-15 almonds
- rye Cruskit w pb & honey (lame attempt to curb sugar craving way too late)
- Turkey hotpot w 1 slice whole wheat
- 80g popcorn, lite butter
Yup, that's what I ate. Somehow it looks a lot less scary than I expected it to. I think burning calories is makin' me a hungry lady. I just gotta make sure I'm not undoing all the hard work!
